The current state of the Polish economy

INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION

Poland is one of the more successful countries in the Central and Eastern European region. According to the International Monetary Fund, Poland has become the fastest growing economy in Europe, with a growth rate of 3.7% in 2011. The Polish government has taken measures to reduce the burden on enterprises, increase support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and expand investment in infrastructure construction to promote economic growth and employment. The Polish economy has gradually entered another period of rapid growth. According to preliminary statistics released by Poland's Central Statistical Office, Poland's GDP in 2010 was PLN 1,246.823 billion, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year, of which fixed asset investment increased by 5.8% and consumer spending increased by 6.1%. With GDP growth rates of 4.3% and 4.2% in the first and second quarters of 2011, it is assumed that Poland's GDP growth for the whole of 2011 will not be less than 4.2%, so there is immeasurable potential for Poland's development in the international arena.
