At Japan Build Tokyo 2023, the booth area has been doubled, and 4 exhibition halls have been added to the South Hall, and a total of 6 exhibition halls have been opened, including West Hall 1 and 2 and South Hall 1-4. It attracted more than 510 exhibitors, including more than 70 international exhibitors from Australia, Italy, Lithuania, the United States, Norway, Spain, Canada, Pakistan, India, South Korea, China, Taiwan, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom, and 34,443 professional visitors. More than 30 exhibitors from China participated in this exhibition.

  1. Japan's total trade in imported building materials products is 23.511 billion US dollars, ranking seventh in the world and second in Asia, accounting for 12% of global imports of this category, with a five-year compound growth rate of 2%. Among them, the smart home market size is expected to reach 134.52 billion yen in 2025.

  2. In 2019, Japan's total trade in building materials products imported from China was 10.924 billion US dollars, and China is Japan's largest building materials trading partner, accounting for 46% of Japan's total imports. China's exports of building materials to Japan increased by 2% year-on-year, with a five-year compound growth rate of 1%. This shows that the trade between China and Japan in building materials is stable, and China is Japan's long-term and main partner, and it also has a broad space for development.

   3. At present, the building materials imported by Japan from China mainly include: valves, pumps, compressors, construction mining vehicles, steel pipes, construction equipment accessories, refrigeration parts, hand tool materials, etc. In 2019, the trade between China and Japan in building materials mainly traded compressors, 

      refrigeration accessories, building stones, pipe pumps and valves, and the five-year compound growth rates of limestone and cement were 61% and 72%, respectively.

    In recent years, the smart home market has set off a boom, and the size of the Japanese smart home market has grown rapidly, from 20 million yen in Japan in 2016 to 84.27 billion yen in 2020.
