Exhibition Introduction
BIG 5 is one of the largest and most influential building materials exhibitions in the Middle East, covering building materials, hardware tools, ceramic sanitary ware, air conditioning and refrigeration, construction machinery and other industries.
The five major trade shows in Dubai, Middle East, have been held for more than 40 years since they were first held in 1980. It was born out of a huge demand for construction and infrastructure in Dubai and across the Middle East. With the rise of the oil economy, countries in the Middle East have invested a lot of money in urban construction and development, and the construction market has shown a vigorous development trend.

Market introduction
There are currently more than 23,000 projects active in the Gulf construction market, with a total value of more than $2.3 trillion. These projects span urban construction (mainly buildings), industry, transportation, oil & gas, and utilities. Among them, the U.A.E. accounted for 61.5%, ranking first among the countries in the Gulf region. Presently. According to the data released by the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) GCC Countries Construction Industry Report (2014 Edition), the award of construction projects in the GCC countries will reach 250 billion US dollars in 2030, and the civil construction market has recovered significantly. According to the report, the civil construction market has become the majority of GCC countries' engineering projects, mainly due to the growing economies and populations of countries such as the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
