The 35th Russia International Furniture and Furniture Accessories Exhibition MEBEL is about to open

MEBEL has been successfully held for 34 sessions, as the largest high-quality furniture exhibition in Russia, attracting well-known furniture manufacturers from all over the world every year, and the exhibition effect has been widely recognized and praised.

MEBEL witnessed the great development of the domestic furniture industry in Russia and provided a good opportunity for face-to-face communication between furniture manufacturers, operators, designers and consumers from all over the world.

The exhibition has grown rapidly since the UFI (Global Exhibition Association) certification in 1998. During the 2023 edition, a total of 667 exhibitors from 12 countries attended the event. The net exhibition area of the exhibition is up to 70,000 square meters. The exhibition was attended by 36,727 visitors from 60 countries of the world and the entire region of Russia.

Compared with the first exhibition, the scale of the exhibition in 2023 has increased by as much as four times, and the exhibition effect has also been recognized and praised by the world. Among the foreign exhibitors, who accounted for 60% of the total number of exhibitors, 92.7% of the business leaders said that they would continue to participate in the 2024 exhibition.

The Russia furniture market rebounded across the board, with some areas such as kitchen furniture, wooden living/dining room furniture, wood-framed sofas and wooden beds all recording growth of 12 to 19 percent. This upward trend is driving economic development in the Volga and South Russia regions. Most of the furniture in Russia is produced in these two regions.

Compared to regions such as Moscow or St. Petersburg, the cost of labor and production is much lower, and the geographical proximity to the Urals and Western Siberia makes it easier to serve buyers from both places. There are a large number of new residential projects in the Urals and Western Siberia, which are helping to drive demand for furniture.

In fact, the surplus of new residential projects has played an important role in the recovery of the furniture industry. Due to the oversupply of newly built properties in the market, mortgage rates have been adjusted downward to attract interested buyers. As more property buyers increase and more people buy their first home, the demand for furniture is set to continue to rise.
