Market introduction
The 13th BUILDTECH ASIA 2024 was successfully held in Hall 3 of the Singapore EXPO from March 19 to 21, 2023, with more than 200 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions including Singapore, Turkey, South Korea, and China. It attracted more than 8,000 visitors during the three-day event. Hosting more than 300 business meetings, BTA has become a strategic platform for meaningful connections between exhibitors and delegates, effectively accelerating the adoption of digital solutions and smart technologies in key areas such as building materials, construction machinery, building finishing, facility management and production technology.
Singapore's construction industry is expected to grow by 2.1 per cent to reach S $35.59 billion 19 million by 2023.
Despite short-term challenges in certain construction sectors, Singapore's medium - and long-term growth story remains intact. Singapore's construction industry is expected to grow steadily over the next four quarters. The growth momentum is expected to continue over the forecast period, with a CAGR of 2.5% from 2023 to 2027. Construction production in the country is expected to reach S $38.645 billion by 2027.
Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) partner Building and Construction Authority BCA has allocated S $4 million to support the development of the digital platform; S $12 million to upgrade skills in the construction industry to prepare for a labour-intensive high-tech future with a more "smart" process approach.
